World

An entire tomb, transported to another world.

In 2138, as the DMMO-RPG YGGDRASIL shuts down, Momonga (Suzuki Satoru), guild master of the guild Ainz Ooal Gown, stays in the Great Tomb of Nazarick to see out the final countdown. When the servers go dark, he is transported to another world together with the entire tomb, still in the body of a skeletal magic caster, and the former NPCs gain wills of their own and swear absolute loyalty to him. Taking the name Ainz Ooal Gown, he plays the part of the "Supreme Being" while searching for former comrades who may have come to this world too, and, pushed along by his subordinates, gradually moves toward conquering the world.

Latest Vol. 16, オーバーロード16 半森妖精の神人[下] (The Half-Elf God-kin, Part II; KADOKAWA, released July 29, 2022). As of October 2026, Vol. 17 has no official release date; the author plans to conclude the series in 18 volumes
