Personality
One of the few characters in the series to "make a wise decision." He spent years holed up on the top floor of the royal castle reading the dwarves' books. Lacking confidence, he considers himself physically weak and unsuited to fighting, and prefers to keep himself safe through negotiation rather than combat.
Abilities
- Has lived over a hundred years and has a cold breath of commensurate power
- Completely immune to cold, with a "nose" that sniffs out the value of treasure
- His dragon's sharp eyesight has declined slightly (the cause is not stated, and the glasses may be magnifiers for reading small print); he wears ordinary, non-magical glasses on the tip of his snout
- By his own account, "I can probably fly"
History
- The eldest son of Olasird'arc and his consort Kilistran. Because he was fat, his father saw him as a "fat-gon," and because he studied "knowledge" rather than strength, his father lost interest in him and ordered him to leave within a month of finishing his mission (disownment)
- Vol. 11: Sent by his father to scout Ainz's party, he sensed mortal danger by instinct and immediately assumed a pose of submission, begging for his life with all his might
- He caught Ainz's interest by pointing out that "a fat build is rare," which kept him from being slaughtered for materials; after being "tamed" by Aura, he said, "I was so overjoyed I wet myself"
- Carried Ainz and Gondo to his father, proclaimed Ainz the new king, and witnessed his father being killed instantly
- To save the consorts, he lied that he had three mothers; afterward he came to belong to the Sorcerer Kingdom, though his specific job is unknown (most frost dragons handle air transport and such under Shalltear). He also succeeded in losing weight
Trivia
In anime season 4 episode 7 he tucks his glasses into a gap in his belly scales; this is an anime-original detail.
