Artifact
In the light novels, finished items that cannot freely take data, dropped with fixed data or sold in shops; their rarity varies.
- Examples: Horn of the Goblin General (lowest rank), the ring for wielding wands (an ultra-rare boss drop), Seven-Gate Breaker (7 uses of a level-90 thief's lockpicking ability)
- Some dropped artifacts only show their true effect when certain conditions are met, such as the Horn of the Goblin General
- Tricolor Gauntlets: a high-grade artifact stacking three kinds of physical damage reduction; when elemental damage reaches a certain value it fully negates it once and then breaks
- In the Web novel, "artifact" means the highest-grade magic items, equivalent to Divine–Legendary class in the light novels
- YGGDRASIL equipment has 9 grades: Divine > Legendary > Relic > Legacy > Highest > Superior > Middle > Low > Lowest; "Highest" is actually low-grade for level-100 players
- Divine class requires multiple top-rarity drop crystals and an ultra-rare metal vessel; many level-100 players have none, and even Ainz Ooal Gown could only give NPCs 1–2 pieces
- Guild weapons are a special category, one per guild, with data capacity far beyond ordinary Divine class; the guild collapses if it is destroyed, and in principle only the guild master can use it (1-021, manga Vol. 1 supplement)
- Another equipment-type artifact: Tricolor Gauntlets (side story); the ring for wielding wands can only enable one wand of another system at a time and cannot be switched again for 1 hour (13-145)
Notes
Chinese translations often render both "artifact" and "Divine class (gods)" with the same word ('divine artifact'), so care is needed to tell them apart when reading.
