Scroll

Single-use items with a spell sealed in advance; whether one can use them depends on the user's class spell list.
- YGGDRASIL: ordinary parchment can hold only up to 2nd tier, while dragon hide can hold 10th tier; made by drawing a magic circle with melted YGGDRASIL gold coins and casting the spell
- Power is usually fixed at the minimum level; a minimum-level scroll's 10th-tier spell cannot break through Shalltear's magic resistance
- The user must know the spell or have it on their class spell list; thief-type skills or talents can bypass this rule
- With Nazarick's techniques, New World parchment can only hold 1st tier; the "parchment" Demiurge found (actually human skin) can hold up to 3rd tier
- A New World 1st-tier scroll costs 1 gold coin and 10 silver coins, about 1.5 months of a commoner's income; the Slane Theocracy has a secret technique for making 4th-tier scrolls
- Elves make scrolls from special tree bark, limited to druid spells of 3rd tier or below (Vol. 16)
- A scroll's power depends on the maker's skill, but scrolls are usually made at the minimum level and fixed there (3-350)
- New World scrolls are made differently from YGGDRASIL's; Titus called local parchment holding only 1st tier "refined, in a sense" (8-311)
Notes
Scrolls and staves can hold [Perfect Unknowable], but wands cannot (BD bonus novel).
