World Items

The items at the very top of all items in YGGDRASIL: 200 kinds in total, each with effects capable of breaking game balance.
- 200 kinds in total; the only ways to counter their effects are to hold a World Item yourself, or to use a skill of the top class "World Champion" at the right moment
- The holder's status bar shows a buff called "World" (whether it must be equipped is unclear); in the side story The Vampire Princess of the Lost Country, equipping one grants "World's Protection", which defends against Wild Magic
- Single-use World Items can be obtained again the same way after use; single-use World Items exist besides the "Twenty" (author's Twitter)
- The guild Ainz Ooal Gown holds 11, far ahead of every other guild; second place has only 3 (Vol. 1)
- In Vol. 3, after Shalltear was brainwashed, Ainz took several World Items from the Treasury and handed them to the Guardians as a guard against New World World Items
- In the game's lore, World Items are formed from leaves of the World Tree that survived being devoured by a gigantic monster
- The 11 held by Ainz Ooal Gown (Vol. 1): Billion Blades, Caloric Stone (consumed; unclear whether still counted), Ginnungagap, Avarice and Generosity, Depiction of Nature and Society, Throne of Kings, Hygieia's Chalice, Momonga's Red Orb, one held by Aureole, and two "Twenty"
- Arcadia comment replies: most offensive World Items can at least attack everything in an area (some are single-target); the Web novel also says World Items can let NPCs learn super-tier magic
- In Vol. 14, after Ainz removed Momonga's Red Orb, he could no longer watch Tsa vs Pandora's Actor through the Mirror of Remote Viewing; from this, readers infer that "World's Protection" requires carrying the item on one's person rather than in inventory
- Japanese sources speculate that the New World's automatic language translation (mouth movements not matching voices) may be the effect of some World Item (unverified)
Notes
In the Web novel, an English document compiled by the guild "Burning Three Eyes" records information on 50 World Items; at an event Q&A the author said the specs of the items other than the Twenty are also decided.
