Death Knight

Defensive undead summoned by Ainz · Nazarick: Area Guardians & Other NPCs · Heteromorphic (Undead) · Lv 35
Personality
Completely obedient to its summoner; like most undead it hates the living and delights in slaughter; whether individuals differ is unknown (the one in the bonus novel The King's Envoy is like a considerate office worker). Hamsuke hugged it like a body pillow until the spikes on its body were worn round.
Abilities
- Draws all enemy attacks, taking aggro in place of its summoner
- Can survive any one attack with 1 HP
- Those it kills become Squire Zombies
- Unlike ordinary undead it is not weak to fire; its weakness is having no anti-air means
- Equipped with a flamberge and a tower shield; 2.3 m tall
- Apparently capable of throwing; it once threw a Quagoa
History
- Vol. 1: Summoned by Ainz using a villager's corpse as a medium, it slaughters Theocracy soldiers disguised as Imperial knights in Carne Village
- Vol. 3: Mass-produced after the Shalltear incident; summoned using corpses, they do not disappear
- Vol. 7: Mentions one that spawned naturally on the Katze Plains about 5 years ago and was captured alive by Fluder and others
- Vol. 9: About 200 take part in the massacre riding Soul Eaters
- From Vol. 10: In charge of security patrols and land clearing in E-Rantel; mass production resumes in Vol. 14
Trivia
About half of the Death Knights were actually made by Pandora's Actor transformed into Ainz.
