Faine
The Slane Theocracy's former trump card, mother of Zesshi Zetsumei (deceased) · Slane Theocracy · Human (the novels do not state whether she was God-kin) · Lv Unknown
Personality
Expressionless as if wearing a mask, with eyes cold as glass (unverified). Her mind warped by the Elf King's violation, she showed her daughter no warmth at all, never calling her by name (in dreams calling her only "this"), never celebrating her birthday (unverified), and interacting with her only through near-abusive "training."
Abilities
- The Slane Theocracy's former trump card (15-326); the novels do not state whether she was God-kin
- Could use healing magic; in training she beat her daughter until she was covered in wounds, healed her, then beat her again
- Favored a club in training (unverified)
History
- Deceived, imprisoned and raped by the Elf King Decem, she became pregnant with his child and was rescued back to the Theocracy by the Black Scripture before giving birth (background)
- She gave birth to Antilene (Zesshi Zetsumei) but vented her hatred of the Elf King on her daughter, imposing harsh training in place of upbringing; Auntie Nazaire, who helped in the house, tried to let them rest but was ignored (Vol. 15 flashback, 15-324, unverified)
- Already deceased (Vol. 16); when she died is unknown
- Her hatred of the Elf King passed to her daughter (Vol. 15); in Vol. 10 the Theocracy's leadership says the current war with the Elf Kingdom is also meant to let that girl avenge her mother (unverified). What triggered the war between the two countries is unknown
- During the assault on the Elf capital, Zesshi Zetsumei begins to question whose hatred this really is, planning to later look through the Theocracy's records and get to know her mother anew from a third party's perspective; facing the Elf King, she, like her mother, shows no mercy at all (Vol. 16)
Trivia
Because her mother never once called her by name, Zesshi Zetsumei suspects her mother didn't even know her name and that someone else may have named her (unverified).
