Thirteen Heroes
A multiracial band of heroes who defeated the Evil Deities about 200 years ago; immortalized in fairy tales, though they actually numbered far more than 13. Their Leader is presumed to have been a YGGDRASIL player.
- Only 13 remain in the heroic tales; Evileye believes human-centric factions did not want to spread the deeds of heroes of other races
- Members include the Leader, the necromancer Rigrit, Shirogane ("White Silver," a hollow suit of armor remotely controlled by the Platinum Dragon Lord), the assassin Izaniya, the Magic Craftsman (the Rune King), the Warrior Captain of the Air Giants, the Black Knight who wielded the Four Great Dark Swords, One of the Royal Family of the High-Elves, and others
- The Leader was at first an ordinary person weaker than anyone, who kept swinging his sword through his wounds until he became the strongest; partway through he killed a companion (suspected to be another player) and soon died himself, refusing resurrection. In Vol. 14 Tsa gave the Sorcerer King the false name "Riku Aganeia" and said a "Riku" really existed, so many readers presume the Leader's name was Riku
- The Leader knew "her, who sleeps on the lowest level of the Sea City," and named the demon tree "Zytl Qwae" — lots of Cthulhu references
- Only the Thirteen Heroes were permitted to take a few items out of the Eight Greed Kings' Eryuentiu; the Eight Greed Kings' guild weapon borrowed by the Platinum Dragon Lord was also used by the team
- The opponent of their last adventure was the "Divine Dragon"; the Web novel says they either died together or were defeated, and the heroes who returned keep silent about it
- Legend says the Thirteen Heroes used magic of the 7th tier or higher; in the Web novel Fluder considers the Thirteen Heroes' magic casters his equals or better
- The assassin Izaniya was male, could slip past dragons' magic-sensing organs, and was the founder of the assassin group "Izaniya" (Vol. 7)
- Strength reference (Arcadia reply to comments): the nine goddesses > Kingdom Destroyer > Evil Deities > Thirteen Heroes (the Evil Deities and heroes vary in strength)
- Magic-type members listed in the Web novel setting: Rigrit, the Dark Cultist, the Magic Swordsman, the Great Priest and the Holy Magician; Fluder knows only these five
- The Black Knight wielded the Four Great Dark Swords (light novel: the evil sword Hyumilis, the demon sword Kilineiram, the rot sword Crocdabal and the death sword Sfeiz), was half demon, and is deliberately hidden in the heroic tales; in the Web novel he is the second or third most popular character when children play at being the Thirteen Heroes
- The group of seven Pinison met (three young humans, one large person, one old person, one winged person, one dwarf) matches the features of some of the Thirteen Heroes
- Legend says someone was resurrected in a ritual led by one of the Thirteen Heroes that mobilized many priests, suggesting the use of grand-ritual resurrection magic (Web novel)
- When the Platinum Dragon Lord revealed his true identity, his companions denounced him as a liar, and they still tease him about it
Notes
Note in Japanese sources: the vampire lord "Kingdom Destroyer," destroyed by the Thirteen Heroes in the fairy tales, was in fact Evileye, who fought alongside them (Vol. 7).
