Baziwood Peshmel
Head of the Four Imperial Knights, "Thunderbolt" · Baharuth Empire · Human · Lv Unknown
Personality
A commoner from the back alleys, he speaks casually and is blunt and unreserved even with the emperor. At first he felt no loyalty to Jircniv, but after serving at his side for a long time came to respect him from the heart. He married a former prostitute and has several mistresses, yet the household is harmonious; he jokes that his hobby is "being bossed around by my wives."
Abilities
- De facto leader of the Empire's strongest knights, the "Four Knights"; rated a "quite dangerous"-class fighter by Headhunter Rabbit, the bodyguard of arena promoter Osk
- Wields a greatsword in illustrations; in the Web novel the name "Thunderbolt" comes from his adamantite weapon
- Like the other Four Knights, he is armed with a full set of magic equipment—gauntlets of strength, amulet of health, ring of resistance, helm of mental protection, etc.—and carries at least 1,000 gold coins' worth of potions (Web novel setting)
- Knows his limits: he judges that even the Four Knights together could not beat the Martial King Go Gin
History
- Born in the back alleys of the Imperial capital, he desperately became a knight to survive, nearly died many times hunting monsters, and was finally noticed by Jircniv, filling one of the Four Knights' seats "vacated" by Gazef, and was made a count for his achievements (background; filling the vacancy per 9-145, the countship and other details unverified)
- When Aura and Mare stormed the Imperial castle on dragons, he could only watch as his colleague Nazami and many Imperial guards were swallowed by Mare's earth-splitting magic (Vol. 7)
- Accompanies the emperor to Nazarick to apologize and is terrified by the Death Knight serving tea and by Ainz's true face; afterward he frankly admits that Ainz surpasses Jircniv in both power and charisma (Vol. 9, unverified)
- At the secret meeting in the Imperial arena he and Nimble guard the exits so the temples' high priests cannot leave; hearing the emperor himself request that the Empire become a vassal of the Sorcerous Kingdom, he feels deep sorrow but still hopes the Empire can retain its autonomy (Vol. 10)
- In the short story "Prologue to Everyone's Current Situation" (色んな人の現状。のプロローグ, 2021), published by the author on the posting site Hameln, he discusses with Nimble how to fill the Four Knights' two vacancies; details such as "he married two more former noblewomen" are unverified
Trivia
Headhunter Rabbit, bodyguard to arena promoter Osk, rated the Four Knights "quite dangerous," second only to the "extremely dangerous" rating given to the Martial King Go Gin.
