Gringham
Leader of the worker team "Heavy Masher" · Baharuth Empire · Human · Lv Unknown
Personality
The third son of a Kingdom farming family, he can neither read nor write and knows no etiquette. So that the comrades who recognized him won't be embarrassed on his account, on the job he deliberately speaks in an odd, archaic, stiff manner with words like "we" and "thou," making clients think it's the team's trademark—while privately complaining that talking that way is exhausting.
Abilities
- Short and stocky with a dwarf-like build suited to combat, he wears beetle-like steel-colored full plate and uses an axe and shield (unverified)
- Leads a large worker team of as many as 14, with excellent management skills; as a whole the team is roughly equivalent to mithril-class adventurers
- Widely knowledgeable, with his own judgments on the strength of swordsmen inside and outside the Empire
History
- Third son of a Kingdom farming family (the claim that his brothers deprived him of his inheritance and he left home is unverified); through effort and organizational talent he became a well-known worker (background)
- Accepts Count Femel's request, picks a five-man squad from his 14 members to join the Nazarick investigation, and on the way spars lightly with the adventurer Momon (Ainz), utterly impressed by his top-tier bearing (Vol. 7)
- Exhausted by endless undead and traps in the underground tomb, they are forced to flee (Vol. 7, unverified)
- While fleeing he triggers a trap and is teleported to the second floor's "Black Capsule," falling into Kyouhukou's hands along with the thief, and is presumed devoured by the swarm of cockroaches (Vol. 7)
Trivia
In the anime he and the Martial King Go Gin are voiced by the same actor, Yasuhiro Mamiya; quite a few viewers mistook him for a dwarf because of his build and axe.
