Four Imperial Knights
The four strongest knights of the Baharuth Empire, who guard Emperor Jircniv and carry out imperial orders with authority equal to the knight order's generals; chosen purely for strength, not loyalty.
- Members: "Thunderclap" Baziwood (leader, from the slums), "Fierce Wind" Nimble (a baron's second son, later made an earl), "Heavy Blast" Leinas (half her face rotted by a monster's curse; the only woman), "Immovable" Nazami (dual shields, the toughest knight)
- Selection is based solely on strength, hence members like Leinas with no loyalty at all (Vol. 9)
- In a past battle with the Kingdom on the Katze Plains, two of the previous Four Knights were cut down by Gazef, and the current members filled their places
- Assessment: all the guards combined could barely hold off one Death Knight; even all four together cannot beat the Martial King Go Gin; Fan Long of the Silver Canaries is stronger than Baziwood; Gazef asserts that Brain could beat the Four Knights
- In Vol. 7, when Aura and Mare descended on the imperial palace riding dragons, Nazami was the first to engage, and died swallowed by a fissure from the earthquake Mare caused; he has not been replaced, so effectively only three knights remain
- Web novel: the Four Knights are armed with many magic items such as gauntlets of strength, amulets of health, and rings of resistance, and carry potions worth at least 1,000 gold coins
