Jircniv Rune Farlord El-Nix

Emperor of the Baharuth Empire, known as the "Bloody Emperor" · Baharuth Empire · Human · Lv Unknown (Web novel: in Arcadia reader-comment reply [3122] the author said he is "not even level 5")
Personality
A born ruler - calm, shrewd and immensely charismatic - who always presents the image of a composed, confident and strong monarch before his subjects. Because his father was poisoned by the empress and he executed his brothers after taking the throne, part of him is long since warped, and he has little affection even for his own children. Faced with Ainz he tends to over-read his every move, vents his frustrations when alone, and suffers stomach pain and hair loss from the stress.
Abilities
- Holds absolute political and military power within the Empire, having purged the nobility with an iron hand, employed talented commoners and established centralised rule
- Extremely keen insight and intuition; he once sensed that Ainz was secretly watching him with magic (unverified)
- Wears a necklace of mental protection, a magical beast-hide cloak that guards against magic, and a unicorn ring (which detects and resists poison)
- Later, so as not to waste the unicorn ring, he searched far and wide himself and obtained a magic ring that suppresses stomach pain (a side story the author published on Hameln; non-canon)
History
- As a teenager, when his father the emperor was poisoned by the empress, he took the throne at once, wiped out his mother's family on charges of regicide, executed his brothers one after another, and swept away opposing nobles with the knight orders' force, earning the name "Bloody Emperor" (background)
- Discusses with Fluder the magic caster Ainz who appeared at Carne Village (Vol. 6 interlude); learning of Nazarick, he has a noble he intends to discard hire workers to scout it, which brings Aura and Mare to the imperial castle (Vol. 7)
- Forced to go to Nazarick to apologise, he takes the initiative to ally with Ainz and urges him to found a nation; he declares war on the Kingdom and asks Ainz to take the field, which leads to the massacre on the Katze Plains (Vol. 9)
- Secretly contacting the Slane Theocracy and the Empire's temple factions to plot an anti-Sorcerer Kingdom alliance, his secret meeting at the imperial arena is disrupted by Ainz; considering himself utterly defeated in the battle of wits, he asks to become a vassal of the Sorcerer Kingdom (Vol. 10)
- After submitting, his stomach pain and hair loss actually clear up; in the waiting room for an audience with the Sorcerer King he meets Pe Riyuro, king of the Quagoa, a fellow sufferer, who becomes the first true friend of his life (Vol. 13)
- After the Kingdom is destroyed his stomach pain returns, and he wears the stomach-soothing magic ring he found himself; he receives an invitation bearing the Sorcerer King's seal from the Sorcerer Kingdom's Prime Minister Albedo, asking him to attend a welcoming ceremony for a visit by the Holy Kingdom's "Faceless"; he feigns stomach pain hoping to send Nimble in his place, but as the ruler of a vassal state he cannot refuse, and Nimble begins preparations (the side story "色んな人の現状。のプロローグ" the author published in Hameln's "チラシの裏" section; non-canon)
Trivia
He has a special talent for ventriloquism; in the "women I dislike" ranking in his head, Renner has firmly held first place for years.
