Pandora's Actor
Area Guardian of the Treasury, head of Nazarick's finances · Great Tomb of Nazarick · Heteromorphic · Doppelgänger (Greater Doppelgänger) · Lv 100
Personality
The NPC Ainz personally created during his chuunibyou phase: an egg-headed figure without features who wears a military uniform, speaks German and moves with exaggerated gestures, to Ainz's great embarrassment. Flamboyant on the surface, he is actually calm, pragmatic and observant, with an intellect rivalling Albedo's and Demiurge's, and he will also raise questions and suggestions about orders (unverified).
Abilities
- Can copy 45 appearances, including those of the Forty-One Supreme Beings, and use their skills at about 80% of their power (monster summoning is not weakened); his own base abilities are very weak
- Transforms into Ainz or Momon to act as a body double; even as Ainz he can use "Create Middle Undead" to turn corpses into Death Knights
- Manages the Treasury's items and data crystals and excels at item appraisal; by Vol. 14 he can read the languages of several countries
- Transforms into Nearata to use merchant skills that raise the valuation of the exchange box (nicknamed the shredder), converting items into gold coins
History
- Created personally by Momonga, he guards the Treasury alone; when Ainz comes for a World Item he first appears in Tabula's form, is seen through by Albedo, and is granted a Ring of Ainz Ooal Gown (Vol. 3)
- Ordered out of the Treasury, he transforms into Nearata to convert items into gold coins with the exchange box (Vol. 4 onward); appointed lieutenant of Albedo's search unit (Vol. 7)
- Takes over from Ainz in playing the hero Momon, serving as the Sorcerer King's "watchman" to reassure the citizens of E-Rantel (Vols. 9-10)
- In the war that destroys the Kingdom he disguises himself as Ainz to act as bait, fighting Riku Aganeia (the Platinum Dragon Lord's armour) to gather information, and is finally rescued by Albedo (Vol. 14)
- Ainz wants him to appraise the spoils from the Elf King's treasury (unverified), and sends him to recover the items on the Elf King's body (Vol. 16)
Trivia
Momonga originally wanted to name him "Surprise Box" (びっくりボックス); it was Ulbert and their friends who changed it to "Pandora's Actor" (2022 programme celebrating the original work's 10th anniversary).
