Succulent
"Illusion Demon", one of the Six Arms · Eight Fingers · Human · Lv Unknown (in the author's level ranking, below the Four Imperial Knights' average and above Calca (the Holy Queen))
Personality
Proud to be one of the Six Arms, serious about his work, and intolerant of anyone getting in his way (unverified). Arrogant and cunning toward the weak, he likes toying with opponents through illusions; the other Six Arms mock him as the weakest.
Abilities
- Trains in both arcane illusion magic and the light sword, fighting by dodging rather than blocking; his abilities are spread thin, so in pure swordsmanship he is inferior to Climb
- Illusions: <Scintillating Scotoma> creates blind spots in vision, <Fake Death> feigns death, <Multiple Vision> creates copies, and he can take on others' appearance with illusion
- Equipped with the orichalcum chain shirt "Cat's Elegance", a mithril sword, a spear-blocking hood, and a mana-boosting ring
- Once his illusions are seen through or simply disrupted he loses his advantage, and he often loses to opponents of equal or slightly lower strength
History
- Sent by Zero to guard Cocco Doll (some say his cover was representative of the brothel, unverified), he goes with patrol officer Staffan to extort Sebas, indirectly lighting the fuse for the Eight Fingers' destruction (Vol. 5)
- When Sebas, Brain, and Climb raid the brothel, he defeats Climb, tries and fails to recruit Brain (unverified), and is instead easily beaten by him (knocked out with the back of his blade), then arrested along with Cocco Doll (Vol. 5)
- Bailed out through Zero's string-pulling, he lies in ambush at an Eight Fingers base disguised by illusion as the captured Tuare, but since all his magic items were confiscated at his arrest and his disguise only let him wear a maid outfit, he is cut down by Climb with Lockmeier's help (Vol. 6)
Trivia
The setting materials spell his name Succulent; there are two theories about its origin: some sources say it comes from succulent (delicious), while the sources' "name origins" page guesses English "chuckle at". He is the only Six Arms member who did not die at Sebas's hands.
