A lineage of defensive martial arts that repel opponents' attacks: [Fortress] → [Greater Fortress] → [Impregnable Fortress]; each step is stronger, and [Impregnable Fortress] can be learned only by a few geniuses.

• [Fortress]: a defensive martial art that bounces attacks back, with extremely strict timing; not limited to swords or shields, it can be triggered with hands or armor; called "Fortress" in katakana in the Web novel (Vol. 2)
• [Fortress] users: Peter of the Swords of Darkness, Climb, Vijar (Vol. 13), Remedios
• [Greater Fortress]: above [Fortress] and below [Impregnable Fortress]; mithril-rank adventurer Scama Elbero used it against a Death Knight in Vol. 14
• [Impregnable Fortress]: protects the weapon and cancels out incoming force; only some geniuses can learn it (Vol. 6); used by Clementine, and a member of a former orichalcum-rank team also seems able to (Vol. 9)
• In Vol. 6, Gagaran's "super-class combo attack" can break even [Fortress]; only [Impregnable Fortress] can stop it
