Guild / Transfer
A YGGDRASIL guild is a player organization of up to 100 members; at the moment of shutdown, Momonga was transported to another world together with the guild base, the Great Tomb of Nazarick, and the NPCs gained wills of their own.
- Guilds are capped at 100 members and compete in rankings through guild wars, world discovery points and the like; rankings also factor in average level, number of World Items, assets and base points; the lower-tier organization is the "clan"
- Founding a guild requires clearing one of eight mini-events to obtain a "guild founding application scroll"; the guild name and guild master cannot be changed afterward
- Conquering a guild-base-type dungeon grants occupancy rights, and each guild may have only one base; bases continuously consume gold to maintain, and large-scale attacks can bankrupt a guild
- Ainz Ooal Gown grew out of the nine-member clan "Nine's Own Goal"; at its peak it was in the top ten of several thousand guilds, reaching 9th at best; on the day of shutdown it ranked 29th of about 800 guilds
- On the last night before the 2138 shutdown, Momonga awaited the countdown in the throne room, and after midnight found the game had not ended — Nazarick, with all its NPCs, had been transported to the New World
- Other known players also seem to be transported at random at hundred-year intervals; the Six Great Gods and Eight Greed Kings came as groups, and the Eight Greed Kings and Nazarick were transported along with their guild bases
- Why the transfers happen is entirely unknown; in the side story a Dragon Lord calls Satoru Suzuki "the Dragon Emperor's filth," and readers speculate the Dragon Emperor is connected to players' transfers
- The guild base system (POP monsters, NPC creation levels, Ariadne, guild weapons), PK and famous guilds have separate entries
- Members whose guild weapon is destroyed have a "Loser's Brand" floating over their heads forever, which can only be removed by the original members rebuilding the guild
Notes
The author once said on Twitter that conquering another guild's base does not change the ownership of the items inside, and the NPCs remain hostile to the conqueror (whether this applies after the transfer is unknown).
