Resurrection Magic
From lowest to highest tier: [Raise Dead] (5th tier), [Resurrection] (7th tier), and [True Resurrection] (9th tier); the higher the tier, the less level loss on revival.
- [Raise Dead], 5th tier: the lowest resurrection spell; revival consumes a great deal of life force, so adventurers of iron rank or below almost always turn to ash; under YGGDRASIL rules the target loses 1–4 levels (Vol. 6)
- Resurrection requires the corpse to be nearby, and the more damaged it is, the harder it is; Renner says resurrection magic costs a fair amount of gold
- [Resurrection], 7th tier: higher than [Raise Dead], further easing level loss (Vol. 1, Vol. 13)
- [True Resurrection], 9th tier: higher still; used in Vol. 13 to revive Neia, but potions were still needed afterward for her wounds and fatigue—she was not fully restored
- [Phoenix Flame] (7th tier?, druid): revives the instant HP hits zero; per the author's setting its mana cost is huge and it cannot be sustained with MP (Vol. 16)
- [Mercy of Shorea Robusta] (10th tier) also has a resurrection effect, reviving without level loss when HP hits zero, and can evade "The Goal of All Life is Death" (Vol. 16)
- Targets killed by [True Death] (9th tier) cannot be revived by low-tier resurrection spells
Notes
In YGGDRASIL a normal system revival after death costs 5 levels; resurrection magic eases the loss and allows choosing where to revive (on the spot, the dungeon entrance, a nearby town's temple, or the guild base).
