Skeletal Dragon

A dragon-shaped undead about 3 m long made of countless human bones; it negates all magic of 6th tier and below and is considered the natural enemy of magic casters.
- Since almost no one in the New World can use 6th-tier magic or higher, it is treated as a monster with "absolute magic resistance"; it also negates detection magic.
- Web novel subjugation difficulty about 48; it has the usual skeletal piercing resistance, can fly, and its steel-hard bone wings double as weapons.
- A single mithril-rank team can fight one; Gagaran could barely win even against two; Fluder cannot win in a pure spell battle (he can with summoning magic).
- In Vol. 2 Khajiit of the secret society Zurrernorn summoned two, which Narberal destroyed in one blow with a twin-maximized 7th-tier [Chain Dragon Lightning]
- They occasionally appear on the Katze Plains, including large individuals over 4 m (The Ghost Ship of the Katze Plains).
- Its magic resistance accepts allied spells and negates hostile ones (Arcadia comment reply); undead detection cannot find it if it is detection/information magic
- Its bone wings are iron-hard with blade-like tips, so its wingbeats themselves are attacks; it looks like a long-necked, winged, tailed quadruped dragon, but never once breathes in the story (2-318, The Ghost Ship (Part 1))
- Clementine, a piercing-specialized warrior, cannot beat one (author's notes); in the Web novel creating one requires a two-month grand ritual, and the Empire's advisory says to simply monitor it and hire skilled adventurers if one is found
Notes
In the Web novel, three hundred Skeletal Dragons served as Death Knights' mounts in the massacre.
