Sunlight Scripture Confrontation

陽光聖典との戦い · World & History · Battles & Events

Vol. 1, Year 1 after the transfer (within days of it): outside Carne Village, Ainz and Albedo crushed the Sunlight Scripture—the Slane Theocracy special unit lying in wait for Gazef—head-on, and captured its captain Nigun.

• The Sunlight Scripture is one of the Slane Theocracy's Six Color Scriptures, mainly tasked with wiping out demi-human villages; Captain Nigun has the talent "Strengthen Summoned Monsters" and was ordered to assassinate Gazef
• Ainz first swapped positions with Gazef to send him back into the village, then faced the Sunlight Scripture in his place
• Cornered, Nigun shattered a "sealing crystal" to summon a "Dominion Authority"—considered the highest angel locally and said to have defeated a demon god—and ordered it to cast the 7th-tier [Holy Smite]
• Ainz took [Holy Smite] head-on, then destroyed the Dominion Authority, and the Sunlight Scripture collapsed completely
• During the fight someone watching Nigun from afar with information magic was hit by Ainz's counter-information measures; sources record that the Slane Theocracy's Earth Priestess Princess, who was doing the watching, died in a "mysterious explosion", which the Theocracy mistook for the Catastrophe Dragon Lord's revival and so deployed the Black Scripture
• Ainz carried the Sunlight Scripture members back to Nazarick and announced to the NPCs that he had renamed himself "Ainz Ooal Gown"
• Nigun later died while Neuronist interrogated him under [Dominate], because he had been rigged to "die if asked a third question under certain conditions"; Ainz used his corpse as a medium for making undead
• Specific details such as the [Negative Burst] Ainz used to annihilate forty-odd angels in one blow and the [Black Hole] that swallowed the Dominion Authority (unverified)

Notes

Nigun's Japanese voice actor is Takehito Koyasu; despite his small role, the performance made the character very popular. Sources speculate the sealing crystal held [7th Tier Summon Angel].
