Recent History before the Story
In the decades before the story begins, Ramposa III took the Kingdom's throne, Zurrernorn destroyed a city, and the Empire's "Bloody Emperor" ascended, while the regional balance gradually shifted toward the Kingdom's decline and the Empire's rise.
- 39 years ago: Ramposa III became king of the Kingdom
- 40 years ago: Undead appeared at the tournament in Oakneis of the Karnassus City-State Alliance, triggering a riot
- 20 years ago: The secret society Zurrernorn occupied ruins to conduct experiments and destroyed a small city; that same year a dragon destroyed a city in a certain southern country
- 10 years ago: Jircniv, in his teens, seized military power and took the throne, purging his family and incompetent nobles and earning the name "Bloody Emperor"; since then the Empire has fought the Kingdom every year on the Katze Plains, gradually wearing down its national strength
- 5 years ago: A Death Knight that spawned naturally on the Katze Plains was captured by Fluder and his senior disciples; in the Kingdom, at Renner's urging, bounties began to be paid for slaying monsters
- 3 years ago: The dwarves abandoned their southern city of Feo Raizo due to Quagoa incursions; 2 years ago the lizardman tribes went to war over a food shortage, shrinking from seven tribes to five
- 30 years ago: The team of the Kingdom's adamantite-rank adventurer Laufen (Vesture Kloff Di Laufen) obtained a panacea
- 5 years ago: Zenberu left his tribe to travel; 1 year ago: Zaryusu returned from his travels
- Date unknown: When the Slane Theocracy's leadership disclosed information it held to the citizenry, the citizens went out of control and ran amok
