Quagoa

A mole-like demi-human species living beneath the Azerlisia Mountains, with fur as hard as metal armor.
- Average height 140 cm and weight 70 kg; weak prey in the mountain ecosystem.
- The metals eaten in childhood determine adult fur color and strength: dark brown, black, and brown in order of frequency; rare blue and red ones are considered strong, and red Quagoa fur rivals orichalcum.
- Their whole-body fur is hard as metal armor and resists metal weapons, though wooden clubs and claws or fangs deal normal damage; they fight without weapons.
- Weak to lightning, and their race never produces magic casters; they are completely blind in sunlight.
- Subspecies: Quagoa Lord (Pe Riyuro), Quagoa Rider (fast-moving and tireless); they raise the long-haired beast Nuuk as livestock.
- In Vol. 11 they invaded the Dwarf Kingdom, were crushed by the Sorcerer Kingdom's army, and after mass slaughter Pe Riyuro led the survivors into submission.
- Proof of a hero: grind the mineral "Nuran" into pigment and paint two lines on the fur (11-220); proverb: "the worm that burrows into the hole is big" (11-217)
- Red Quagoa fur rivals orichalcum in hardness and resists metal weapons better than ordinary Quagoa (11-224); Pe Riyuro's racial levels are Quagoa 10 + Quagoa Lord 10 (end of Vol. 11)
Notes
Neither Ainz nor Aura knew this race, so Quagoa presumably do not exist in YGGDRASIL.
