0th Tier
The lowest tier, unique to the New World; it does not exist in YGGDRASIL, so Ainz cannot use it.
- Mostly everyday magic: for example, paper made with the 0th-tier version of the paper-making spell is coarse, thick and slightly colored
- In the Web novel the magic academy student Nemel used a spell that warms just one plate
- The 0th tier has a water-creating spell with the same mana cost as the 1st-tier [Create Water], but water made with the 1st tier tastes better (side story The Vampire Princess of the Lost Country)
- Another account: it is regarded as on par with parlor tricks, and using it does not make one a magic caster (unverified)
- The paper-making spell has three grades: 0th-tier paper is coarse, rather thick and colored; 1st-tier paper is thinner and whiter (scarce and expensive); the 2nd tier can make white, extremely thin, dyeable "nobles' paper" (Vol. 13)
- Since the 0th tier was developed in the New World, sources regard it as a uniquely local research achievement
