Undead Disaster

インベリア等のゾンビ化 · World & History · Battles & Events

In the bonus novel The Vampire Princess of the Lost Country (an IF parallel timeline set about 200 years before the light novels), the Rotten Coffin Dragon Lord Cure Elim caused a mass zombification that destroyed four nations, including Keno's homeland Inveria.

(bonus novel) The Vampire Princess of the Lost Country is the bonus novel for the anime season 3 DVD/Blu-ray, an IF story in which Suzuki Satoru, transferred alone about 200 years earlier, meets Keno in a zombie-filled city; it differs from the main timeline
(bonus novel) Inveria is the nation of Keno (later Evileye), with a population of 5 million, over 90% of them a Humanoid race called "rainbow-eyed people"; it thrived on livestock and had kept a balance with its neighbors for the past 50-odd years
(bonus novel) The zombification centered on Mount Keitenias and covered a radius of over 250 km, destroying four nations including Inveria (unverified); Inveria's neighbor was the "Aina Miscegenation League", a coalition of several races
(bonus novel) The culprit was Cure Elim Los Malvar, the Rotten Coffin Dragon Lord living on Mount Keitenias (formerly the "■■ Dragon Lord", Lv95), whose hobby was "self-strengthening" (unverified)
(bonus novel) The Rotten Coffin Dragon Lord drained souls over a wide area with Wild Magic (those drained turned into zombies), thereby becoming undead and stockpiling souls to fuel Wild Magic; his supposed motive, "strengthening himself to face the next wave of players", is unverified; the Aina Miscegenation League was also one of the four destroyed nations (unverified)
(bonus novel) Neighboring nations only noticed about 15 years after the disaster, by which time undead were pouring out of the stricken area, and the surviving nations quarantined the region as an uninhabited zone (unverified)

Notes

In the main story, the Slane Theocracy believes the Rotten Coffin Dragon Lord has already perished.
