Elias Brandt Dale Raeven
One of the Kingdom's Six Great Nobles, a marquis, "the super-doting great noble" · Re-Estize Kingdom · Human · Lv Unknown
Personality
Cold and snake-like in appearance, he is seen as a bat wavering between the two factions, but is in fact the hidden leader of the Royal Faction, quietly keeping the Kingdom from splitting apart. Once ambitious enough to plot to usurp the throne, he changed completely after his son was born into a father who dotes on his child, and in private often rails at foolish nobles under great stress.
Abilities
- Peerless political skill, with connections in both the Royal Faction and the Nobles' Faction
- Unusually for the Kingdom, which looks down on magic, he relies on retired orichalcum- and mithril-rank adventurers as his subordinates
- Compiled an adventurers' handbook gathering knowledge of monsters, magic and items
- Skilled at information control; later he blocked news of the invasion for the Sorcerer Kingdom
History
- Originally an ambitious man with designs on the throne, after a political marriage the birth of his son "Rii-tan" made him give up his ambitions; he wants only to hand his domain down to his child intact (background)
- At Renner's invitation he meets her together with the Second Prince Zanac and forms a partnership, sending his men to join the raids on the Eight Fingers' hideouts and engaging the adamantite-rank adventurers "Darkness" (ostensibly to guard his residence in the Royal Capital) (Vol. 6)
- Put in command of the Kingdom army during the massacre on the Katze Plains, he narrowly survives after the whole army collapses, then refuses Zanac's pleas to stay and withdraws to his domain (Vols. 9-10)
- Coerced by the Sorcerer Kingdom through his child, he is forced to betray the Kingdom and blocks news of the Sorcerer Kingdom's invasion (Vol. 14)
- After the Kingdom falls he is provisionally ordered to administer his own domain, E-Raebul, and is somewhat heartened by the arrival of his second child (Vol. 14)
Trivia
He has told his wife "I love you" only twice: two days after his son was born, and on their wedding anniversary in the year his son turned two.
