Renner Theiere Chardelon Ryle Vaiself

ラナー・ティエール・シャルドロン・ライル・ヴァイセルフ

The "Golden" Third Princess; later Nazarick's 9th Floor "Area Guardian of a single room" · Re-Estize Kingdom · Human → Demon (Imp) · Lv 10 (Vol. 14: racial 1 + job 9)

Personality

Outwardly the gentle, merciful "Golden Princess" who cares for commoners, she is in truth a "heteromorph of the mind" who understands good and evil yet is not bound by them in the least, able to sell out her family and country without batting an eye. She has almost no feelings for other humans; her one obsession is Climb, whom she wants to look at her alone, forever, with those pure eyes.

Abilities

Her powers of "thought" - insight, observation, comprehension and planning - are extraordinary, considered on a par with Albedo's and Demiurge's
Cracked the cipher texts of the Eight Fingers' hideouts in a short time, and without anyone's support built an intelligence network that even Marquis Raeven did not notice (unverified)
Proposed reforms such as abolishing the slave trade, paying bounties to adventurers and having troops under the king's direct command patrol the highways, most of which were blocked by the great nobles and scrapped; Jircniv once quietly borrowed them (unverified)
A superb actress who switches between faces such as the innocent princess and the ignorant princess as the occasion demands
Reborn as a demon in Vol. 14; from after Vol. 6 a Shadow Demon of Nazarick has accompanied her and relays messages between her and Demiurge (Vols. 6, 10)

History

As a child her intellect so far exceeded others' that no one understood her; her mind became warped and she was nearly dying of anorexia, until she picked up the street urchin Climb and found fulfilment in his gaze (Vols. 3, 6)
Asks Blue Roses to investigate the Eight Fingers, and allies with Marquis Raeven and Zanac to sweep away the Eight Fingers' hideouts (Vols. 5-6)
During the unrest in the Royal Capital she makes contact with Demiurge and offers herself to Nazarick; nine-tenths of the events leading up to the Kingdom's fall are said to have been her schemes (Vols. 6, 14)
When the Sorcerer Kingdom invades the Royal Capital she stays in the castle; her father, King Ramposa III, after entrusting her with the symbols of royal authority, is alone with her and hands her a vial (probably for suicide); afterwards the king appears as a corpse in the Throne Room, killed by Razor Edge - the original does not depict it directly, but the circumstances suggest Renner killed him (speculative wording); she then has Ainz cooperate in staging a performance in the Throne Room for Climb to see (Vol. 14)
Transformed into an Imp, she swears loyalty to Ainz, has Climb revived with Nazarick's help, leads him into becoming an ageless demon with her, and lives with him in a single room on Nazarick's 9th Floor (Vol. 14)

Trivia

Her official Japanese name is "Chardelon" (シャルドロン); the "Chardelun" (シャルドルン) popular among fans is actually a misspelling. In the author's ranking of ruling ability she is first by a wide margin, "beyond comprehension".
