Demon / Devil

Incarnations of evil summoned from places called other worlds; the umbrella term for violent, destructive "demons" and cunning, corrupting "devils".
- They delight in tormenting intelligent good creatures and are regarded as a dangerous race; slightly stronger than other monsters summoned by spells of the same tier.
- Most have racial fire resistance; higher demons resist elemental damage well, with lightning relatively effective.
- They need neither sleep nor food but can eat and drink, though eating gives no buffs.
- According to Evileye, demons and angels cannot use false names; a name is an important part of their existence, and using a false one would destroy them.
- Example races: Imp (a starting race, switched to with a "Seed of Corruption"), Succubus, Archdevil (Demiurge's final race).
- Albedo and Demiurge are demons; after Vol. 14 Renner's race changed to Imp level 1.
- Otherworldly beings such as angels and demons can use skills with the same effect as "Dimensional Lock".
- Demiurge's and Albedo's first race was Imp, from which sources infer the starting race for the demon line is Imp; Imps are about 30 cm tall with bat wings and copper-red skin, their tails dripping poison (4-100)
- Demons outside Nazarick: hellhounds mobilized during the capital's turmoil (difficulty about 15, breathing fire), greater hellhounds, crimson-eyed demons, swarms of tiny demons (6-307, 6-335); soul-eater demons make the faces of those they swallowed surface on their bellies (6-343)
- The "crowned demon" series in the Holy Kingdom arc: Floral Wreath (1 head, up to 3rd tier), Circlet (2 heads, 6 tiers total), Crown (3 heads, 10 tiers total), Headdress/Top Hat (4 heads, up to 10th tier, 15 tiers total) (13-345, 13-406)
- YGGDRASIL's "light-fingered demon" was originally able to steal any item, even World Items, but after player complaints it was changed to steal only items of its own level or lower (Web "Nations-5")
