Great Tomb of Nazarick
The base of the guild Ainz Ooal Gown, originally the guild-base dungeon "Tomb of Nazarick" in Helheim's Grendel Swamp; 10 floors in total, it appeared whole on a plain beside the Great Forest of Tob after the transfer.
- In YGGDRASIL it lay deep in the Grendel Swamp within the "Purple Poison Swamp" of Helheim, one of the Nine Worlds, appearing only when approached below a certain altitude or on foot
- The original dungeon was a top-difficulty five-party simultaneous raid: five areas—"Tomb", "Underground Lake", "Glacier", "Great Forest", and "Lava Zone"—each had a boss, and defeating all of them opened the "Wasteland"; the five bosses had to fall almost simultaneously; Nishikienrai discovered it and Punitto Moe organized the five parties for the first blind clear
- Initial NPC creation levels were 2,250, plus 500 as the first-clear reward for 2,750 total, possibly increased later with cash items; known NPC levels total 1,525 (tally)
- After the guild's expansions: the tomb grew into floors 1–3, and floors 9 and 10 were added; floors 1–3 and floors 9–10 are physically connected, while the other floors are linked by teleport gates
- Inside, teleporting between floors is forbidden, and one cannot teleport in from outside; holders of the Ring of Ainz Ooal Gown can teleport without limit to rooms with name labels (except the Throne Room and the Cherry Blossom Sanctuary)
- The largest raid force in history—1,500 people from an alliance of eight guilds plus mercenaries—once attacked, and was wiped out upon reaching the 8th floor
- After the transfer it lies north of E-Rantel, about 10 km northeast of Carne Village; Mare raised the terrain with magic to bury and hide the surface area
- In Vol. 1 Ainz judged that his current forces could wipe out about 30 level-100 players in one go, and with World Items it could become an impregnable fortress
Notes
On Twitter the author introduced "a way to invade Nazarick with a very high survival rate": unless your party includes a "mysterious warrior", you will never come back.
