Heteromorphic Species

The umbrella term for races belonging to neither human nor demi-human species—undead, slimes, demons, angels, dragons, etc. They have high stat growth and monster traits, but come with clear weaknesses and in-game penalties.
- Their stats rise more than those of human or demi-human species, and they gain monster-derived resistances and special abilities, but often have clear weaknesses.
- Penalties for choosing a heteromorph in YGGDRASIL: killing one does not count as PK and incurs no penalty for the attacker, some cities cannot be entered, some classes cannot be taken, some items cannot be equipped, etc.
- Hence playing a heteromorph is seen as "for experts"; but their stats are high and strong skills become stronger, so a skilled player can be very powerful.
- Every member of Ainz Ooal Gown is a heteromorph, and they were once targets of heteromorph hunting (PK).
- Once changed to undead, ordinary race-change items no longer work; the only options are the World Item "Seeds of the World Tree" or deleting and remaking the character.
- Heteromorphs have the advantage in Niflheim, Helheim, and Muspelheim, and heteromorph players rarely leave these three worlds (BD bonus novel); there are also powerful classes that require PKing heteromorph players to unlock
Notes
Dragons are classified as heteromorphs, but their lifespan in the New World is unknown; the frost dragon Hejinmal believes undead surpass dragons in growth and lifespan, implying he thinks dragons have lifespans.
