Notable YGGDRASIL Guilds
At its peak YGGDRASIL had thousands of guilds, with about 800 remaining at shutdown; besides Ainz Ooal Gown, the original and the Web novel mention several notable guilds.
- Ainz Ooal Gown: membership required being a working adult and a heteromorph (hidden condition: approval by a majority of members); held 11 World Items, the most of any guild, with a peak ranking of 9th
- Seraphim: accepted only angel-type races; ranked 1st at its peak (Vol. 11, BD bonus novel)
- Millennium Kingdom: its guild banner bears a crane (Vol. 11); Great Kingdom of Lord Cat: occupied a castle and made all its NPCs cats or felines (Vol. 1)
- Burning Three Eyes: formed by operators of paid information sites, it planted spies in top guilds to steal information until an alliance of top guilds attacked it (including spawn killing) and it collapsed; its members then published all the gathered information completely free (Vol. 7); "its existence led Ainz Ooal Gown to stop recruiting, leaving it at 41 members" (unverified)
- Web setting: the three-guild alliance "Trinity" formed to oppose the 2ch Alliance (ranked 1st), "World Searchers" pursuing new discoveries (2nd, holder of the World Item Graeae), the "2ch Alliance" with 3,000 members at its peak (3rd), a pro-Japan overseas guild, a voice actor guild, a mercenary magic caster guild, and more
- Guild rankings combine average level, world discovery points, number of World Items, asset points, base points, PK and guild war points, and more; rumor has it even cash spending counts
Notes
Japanese sources cite the author's confirmation: the name Burning Three Eyes comes from one of the avatars of Nyarlathotep, the "faceless god" of the Cthulhu Mythos.
