- Packed almost every day, with betting on matches; promoters rent the venue for events, and the most popular are the deadly "tournaments" (Vol. 7)
- VIP rooms come in three kinds: for sponsors, for high nobility, and for the Emperor (Vol. 10)
- Programs aren't always even matches: some shows have magical beasts slaughter demi-human slaves (Web novel "Academy" arc); adventurer teams are popular entrants because of their flashy magic (Vol. 10)
- An adventurer team once won with flight and ranged attacks, leaving the crowd cold; since then flight and teleportation magic have been banned in the arena
- Losers were once executed, but the practice ended after a gladiator who was spared eventually became Martial King
- Martial Kings through history: the first and second died in the arena; the third "Sword Demon", fourth "Weak Lord", fifth "Four Lightning Whip", sixth "White Eyebrows", seventh "Corrosive Wolf" Kullervo Palantynen, and eighth Go Gin (a war troll)
- The most powerful promoter is Osk, who brought Go Gin, then training on the frontier, to the arena; the undefeated genius swordsman Erya also fights here
