Vol. 14, sometime in Years 3–5 after the transfer, during the Sorcerer Kingdom's destruction of the Kingdom: at his subordinates' petition, Ainz agreed to deliberately let some people escape, and Shalltear evacuated about 1,000 Eight Fingers associates before the assault on the capital.

After the Sorcerer Kingdom declared war on the Kingdom and fighting began, the Eight Fingers' head was instructed to select about 1,000 people from the Sorcerer King's subordinates (Eight Fingers associates).
While the Sorcerer Kingdom carried out its slaughter, Pestonya S. Wanko and Nigredo petitioned Ainz to halt the operation, finally obtaining a promise to "deliberately let some escape".
When the Kingdom conscripted an army of about 400,000 to meet the invasion, the imprisoned Cocco Doll was freed by the Eight Fingers amid the chaos.
The day after the Sorcerer Kingdom's army deployed before the capital, Shalltear handled the evacuation of the 1,000 Eight Fingers associates.
After the war these 1,000 settled in a certain village.
Other sources state: Sebas was also among the petitioners, and the result was persuading Ainz to spare about 10% of the Kingdom's population; the evacuees were sent via [Gate] to a new temporary village near the "Monument of Destruction" in the Great Forest of Tob, moving to a permanent village a week later; this earned the Sorcerer King the Eight Fingers leaders' genuine loyalty (unverified).

Notes

The Eight Fingers submitted after receiving Nazarick's "baptism" following Vol. 6, and worked in the shadows until the Kingdom fell.
