Theocracy–Elf War
Over a hundred years ago Elf King Decem deceived and violated Faine, the Slane Theocracy's trump-card woman, and the Black Scripture paid a terrible price to rescue her; the child born of this is the Extra Seat, and the two nations went from allies to prolonged war.
- The Elf Country once cooperated with the Theocracy, but the Elf King betrayed it, imprisoning and violating Faine; the Black Scripture was nearly wiped out rescuing her
- Afterward the Theocracy changed course and began to treat non-human races as enemies; the war between the two nations is generally thought to have begun around this time
- The Elf Country excels at guerrilla warfare in the great forest, and since the Theocracy also slowed its advance out of wariness of forest monsters, the front stayed deadlocked for a long time
- Once the Theocracy committed the Holocaust Scripture, skilled in guerrilla warfare and assassination, it advanced rapidly, built a forward base near the royal capital, and planned to destroy the Elf Country within a few years
- Elf slaves whose minds have been thoroughly broken circulate in the Theocracy's markets; in the Web novel half an ear is sometimes cut off as a slave mark
- One account: the Elf King wants to reclaim his child, the Extra Seat, and if it is a daughter, to have her bear his children (Vol. 11 interlude; that "the Extra Seat is his child" is not written directly in the original)
- Elf slaves sold by the Theocracy are very expensive, and some can even use magic or skills (7-254); the Empire's arena also has demi-human slaves (7-112)
Notes
Most ordinary citizens of the Elf Country do not know why the war began and simply see themselves as victims of invasion.
