Zanac Valleon Igana Ryle Vaiself

Second Prince, "the last king of the Vaiself royal house" · Re-Estize Kingdom · Human · Lv 8 (Vol. 14)
Personality
Fat and deliberately feigning mediocrity, he is in fact what Marquis Raeven calls "the only member of the royal family who can see the danger and act for the future", and the author rates him "ordinarily capable". He speaks casually with allies and has a habit of licking his lips before saying something harsh; he believes he falls short of his father, brother, and sister in popularity, dignity, and wisdom, and underrates himself.
Abilities
- Solid political and administrative skills; after the war he single-handedly shouldered the royal faction and the affairs of state
- Saw through Renner's abnormality and could make use of it, allying with Marquis Raeven in the contest for the throne
- In the decisive battle he wore the Kingdom's treasures: the Amulet of Immortality, the Guardian armor, and the Gauntlet of Vitality
History
- Vol. 5: Sarcastically asks Climb whether he's off to see "that monster"; Vol. 6: Holds a secret meeting with Marquis Raeven and Renner, and having seen through Renner's true nature, allies with her on condition that he allow her union with Climb
- In the Demonic Disturbance in the Royal Capital he leads Marquis Raeven's troops in guiding commoners to safety, winning renown (Vol. 6)
- After the Katze Plains massacre and Barbro's "disappearance" he becomes heir to the throne, running the government in place of his despondent father and handling the Sorcerer Kingdom envoy Albedo (Vols. 9–10)
- After the Sorcerer Kingdom declares war he places his father under house arrest and leads the Kingdom's last great army into the field; meeting Ainz before the battle, he understands Ainz's thinking and secures a promise of a painless death for himself and his men (Vol. 14)
- Back at camp he is betrayed and killed by nobles and mercenaries desperate to live, and his head is presented to Ainz, who, angered, orders the traitors severely punished (Vol. 14)
Trivia
The stress of the Sorcerer Kingdom's invasion made him binge and grow fatter, and when he mounted his beloved horse it gave him a reproachful look.
