Genius / General classes
Two types of classes absent from YGGDRASIL: "Genius," an innate talent-type class, and "General," classes gained in everyday life with almost no combat power.
- Genius classes exist only among classes, not races; holders get perks like learning slightly more spells, but do not become absurdly strong
- Japanese sources specifically list the "Genius" class: a special class that can be swapped for any base or general class; as of Vol. 14 Renner can swap only one at a time
- Nfirea's Alchemist and Apothecary are both "Genius" versions (4 levels each)
- General classes are non-combat classes such as craftsmen; skilled craftsmen have high levels in these
- General classes are very weak, with only about 1/5 to 1/2 the combat power of a warrior of the same level
- Neither "Genius" nor "General" exists in YGGDRASIL
- Genius classes in the light novels' end-of-volume data: Brain's "Genius/Warrior," Remedios's "Paladin (Genius)," Nfirea's "Alchemist (Genius)" and Apothecary; so far only Nfirea has two Genius classes at once
- Also per Japanese sources, classes such as Cursed Knight and Ninja that were advanced classes in the game were clearly learned by New World people ignoring the game's conditions (e.g. Leinas, Tia/Tina), indicating that acquisition rules for some classes changed after the transfer
Notes
Other sources label Brain a (Genius) Warrior and Remedios a (Genius) Paladin.
