Baharuth Empire

A prosperous human nation east of the Azerlisia Mountains, centralized under the "Bloody Emperor" Jircniv; after Vol. 10 it voluntarily became a vassal of the Sorcerer Kingdom.
- Capital: the Imperial capital Arwintar; ruler: Emperor Jircniv Rune Farlord El-Nix
- Government: absolute monarchy; until about three generations ago it was a feudal state much like the Kingdom, but the current emperor purged many nobles and promoted talented commoners
- Military: the Imperial Knights, a professional army (10,000 per army), plus the Four Imperial Knights, Chief Court Wizard Fluder and the Imperial Ministry of Magic
- In the Web novel its population exceeds 8 million with a relatively high literacy rate; it maintains peaceful trade with the dwarf nation
- It fights the Kingdom on the Katze Plains every year to wear down its strength, and jointly maintains undead-hunting outposts on the Katze Plains with the Kingdom
- Key events: Workers invade Nazarick → alliance with the Sorcerer Kingdom → the Massacre at Katze Plains → Jircniv's anti–Sorcerer Kingdom alliance fails and he asks to become a vassal
- After vassalization part of its military is supplemented by the Sorcerer Kingdom's undead, and the preamble of Imperial law enshrines the absolute authority of the Sorcerer King and his close aides
- The Imperial capital Arwintar has the commoners' greatest entertainment venue, the "Arena," and the Empire's highest institution of learning, the "Imperial Magic Academy," both with separate entries
- The Four Imperial Knights have separate entries: "Thunderbolt" Baziwood, "Fierce Wind" Nimble, "Heavy Blast" Leinas and "Immovable" Nazami (killed in Vol. 7)
Notes
Unlike the Kingdom and the Theocracy, not a single person in the Empire can use resurrection magic.
