Roble Holy Kingdom

A strongly religious human nation on a peninsula southwest of the Kingdom, which held off the demi-humans of the Abelion Hills to the east with a Great Wall over a hundred kilometers long; it was devastated in the Jaldabaoth incident.
- Capital: Hoburns; ruler: Holy Queen Calca Bessarez (all previous Holy Kings were male; she is the first woman to take the throne) → after the incident, Caspond (actually a Doppelgänger) took the throne
- The land is shaped like a "U" lying on its side, divided into north and south by a bay about 40 km long and 200 km wide; the north has a population of about 3.5 million
- Government: the Holy King rules in cooperation with the temple powers; many southern nobles resent a woman on the throne, and the north–south rivalry is a long-standing flashpoint
- Military: a Great Wall over 100 km long running north–south, 3 huge fortresses and small forts; a national general mobilization order and universal conscription of both men and women
- Main forces: the Custodio sisters, Remedios, the strongest paladin, and Kelart, head of the priesthood; it has cooperated with the mermen since ancient times
- Key events: Jaldabaoth invades with over 100,000 demi-humans and the north falls → the Sorcerer King comes to the rescue → the north–south divide deepens, and "the Faceless" Neia spreads faith in the Sorcerer King
- "Nine Colors": titles of nine colors granted by the Holy King, mostly to the strong but sometimes to contributors to culture; known holders include Remedios (white), Pavel (black), Isandro (peach), the vice-captain of the marines (blue), the merman Lan Tsu An Lin (green), an 80-year-old southern marquis (purple), and a duchess-artist (indigo); the temple powers deliberately decline the Nine Colors for political balance (12-022–069, 13-466)
- The Paladin Order numbers about 500, most equivalent to Difficulty 20 monsters, with a few able to duel Difficulty 60; there are only 5 generals in the whole country, including the general of the Great Wall's great fort; the navy's flagship is the Holy King's Hammer, and there is a small air combat unit (Vol. 12)
- The crown is the focus for the grand-ritual magic 〈Last Holy War〉; magical common knowledge in noble society extends only to about the 2nd tier of divine magic
- In front of the walls, large-scale engineering leveled hills and forests to clear over 400 m of plain for visibility; the national general mobilization order has been issued only once in history
Notes
In the Web novel the country is called the "Roble Kingdom," renamed the "Holy Kingdom" in the later part.
