Slane Theocracy

A religious nation founded by humans saved by the Six Great Gods 600 years ago; it espouses human supremacy, secretly thins out demi-humans on behalf of the neighboring human nations, and is the strongest human nation in the region.
- Capital: the holy capital Silksuntecks (シクルサンテクス); located south of E-Rantel; population over 15 million
- Government: theocracy; headed by the Pontifex Maximus, its supreme executive body of 12 consists of the six cardinals of the six sects, the heads of the judicial, legislative and executive organs, the head of the research organ, and the Grand Marshal
- The higher the rank, the lower the stipend, to keep superiors' greed in check
- Military: the Six Scriptures under the cardinals' direct command (Black, Sunlight, Windflower, Clearwater, Holocaust, Ashendust), plus the God-kin Extra Seat and the World Items left by the Six Great Gods
- Long at war with the Elf Country; it gave up on the corrupt Kingdom and intended to let the Empire annex it
- Key events: the Sunlight Scripture's assassination of Gazef fails → the Black Scripture controls Shalltear with "Downfall of Castle and Country" → after the Katze Plains it regards the Sorcerer Kingdom as its greatest threat → in Vol. 16 it attacks the elf capital, and the Extra Seat is captured by Mare
- Elf slaves with broken minds are sold within the country
- Most neighboring nations worship the Four Great Gods, but the Theocracy adds two higher gods of light and darkness, worshipping the Six Great Gods divided into six sects (7-099, Vol. 10 interlude); a new Pontifex Maximus is chosen from the five cardinals outside the incumbent's sect (10-226–228)
- "God-kin" are those who have awakened to the power of players (the Six Great Gods); Vol. 4 says the Theocracy has three God-kin, while the author said "would two be more accurate? It's tricky" (4-143, Vol. 4 afterword)
- Secret technologies: centuries of research produced the technique for making 4th-tier scrolls (still short of the 5th tier) and the recipe for "Blood of God" potions, though the latter is not cost-effective (15-009–010); it also hides that it has magic casters who can use teleportation magic, lying to adventurers it brought from the Kingdom that they teleported via items
- The only nation in the region that keeps family registers; it deliberately avoids sharing a border with the Council State so that its people's hostility is not directed at it; the toy "Rubik's Cube" (ルビクキュー) spread by the Six Great Gods circulates in the country
Notes
In the Web novel the Theocracy worries that the "advent" of Ainz, who resembles Surshana, God of Death, could upset the balance of temple powers and trigger a religious war.
