Martial Arts

Original skills used by the New World's warriors, absent from YGGDRASIL; they could be called "warriors' magic."
- Human species, demi-humans and heteromorphs can all learn them, mainly through warrior-type classes; they can enhance physical abilities or add attributes to attacks
- Activating a martial art consumes a corresponding amount of "concentration"; Gazef, the strongest warrior of the neighboring nations, can normally use up to 6 martial arts at once
- Powerful martial arts like 〈Sixfold Slash of Light〉 consume the concentration of three martial arts and strain the body
- Acquisition conditions are unknown: some learn from others (Hamsuke), others create their own through training (Brain)
- Zenberu says it normally takes a year to learn one martial art
- There is so far no record of a player or NPC learning a martial art
- In the Web novel martial arts were named in English katakana; in the light novel all were renamed with names of several kanji
- Locals can learn both martial arts and YGGDRASIL's special techniques (skills)
- Martial arts that send out flying slashes are weaker than direct slashes (Vol. 16); Gazef can normally use up to 6 at once, 7 with the dragon-treasure ring (Vol. 1)
- For the list of martial arts and compound martial arts (Brain's "Secret Sword: Tiger Drop Whistle," "Strongest Secret Sword: Nail Clipper," "True Nail Clipper," etc.), see the individual martial arts entries
